First day of JC

Dear JC/MI students,

I just want to wish you a happy first day of school. For some of you, A levels will be the most challenging academic phase, some even say university is easy. Whatever it is, stay focused for JC life can be so colourful you'll forget to study.

If you can, do me a favour, sing the National Anthem and take the pledge sincerely for two more years. This is a small country with not too many people and already some are not doing it.

Lastly, education is enjoyable, study is fun. You may not feel that in Yuying but that doesn't mean it is not true. Give it another try in JC, for some subjects you'll see rainbows and fireworks emerging.

I wish you
a fruitful approx. 2 years
a meaningful and fun education
a good A levels
new and lasting friendships while not forgetting old ones

Enjoy the process!

What is your role?

Just want to continue a little bit of Yuying here.

This is the story for the week (Story told by Miss Kok):

What is your role? As in, are you mindful of the role you are playing in life? Have you performed well in the role of your life?

Story is told of a person who did not know what is the role of his life. He spent his life seeking enjoyment and more enjoyment. Eventually ended being a drug addict...

There is a happy ending though. He finally come face to face with the question "what is my role?" and realise that all along he did not know what was his role and wasted thirty years of his life, and along the way even got his beloved girlfriend into debt. When he knew his role finally, he focussed his energy to doing well in his appointed role: to seek God and to love his girlfriend and provide for her. His life finally fall into place.

This is an interesting transition stage of your life. It is time to take stock and reflect:

Have I performed my Yuying role dutifully in my last four years?
What will my new role be? What am I going to do?

We all have a role to play. Perform well.
